Austrian Elections Forecasting the Future?--4/25/2016
In last night's Presidential election in Austria, an historic event took place. The Freedom Party took in the most votes, garnering 36% of the vote. The Freedom Party is a right-wing populist political party, which stands for Individual Freedom, is Anti-Establishment, and has a slogan of "Austria First" which highlights their assertion that Austria is not a country of immigration. The later point has been growing in popularity with Austrians as the violence perpetrated by radical Muslims has also been rising.
Since no majority was reached, the second round of voting (a run off between the top two vote-getters) takes place on May 22nd.
